Article New York—With the help of Beaulieu of America and Milliken and Co., Carpet One donated a mile of red carpet to America On the Move (AOM), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals and communities across the U.S. make positive changes to improve their health and quality of life.

Howard Brodsky, CEO and co-chairman of CCA Global Partners, Carpet One’s parent company, participated in the walk along with representatives from Carpet One of Tarrytown in Tarrytown, NJ., and Cramers Carpet One in Madison, N.J. The broadloom, which spanned more than 4,000 feet of sidewalk, was used for the organization’s “Day of Action” walk through the streets of New York near Central Park.

Regis Philbin and AOM’s founder, Dr. Jim Hill, encouraged those who took the challenge to take an additional 2,000 steps a day—approximately one mile—and eat 100 fewer calories in order to attain and maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.

Philbin lead the group to Grand Army Plaza where they paused for a brief interview with Brodsky then finished at Trump Tower where they had the opportunity to meet Philbin’s long-time friend, Donald Trump.

Inside Trump Tower, Brodsky presented Philbin and Hill with a framed aerial photograph of the event which was bordered with the red carpet. “We were very excited to donate the red carpet to America On the Move and participate in its Day of Action walk,” said Brodsky.

“This is an issue that is becoming increasingly important to the U.S. and I am proud Carpet One is helping encourage individuals to develop and maintain healthier lifestyles.” “The red carpet helped to draw attention to our event and really made people feel special while taking those extra 2,000 steps,” added Hill.

Following the event, all of the broadloom was cleaned by Cramers Carpet One and treated with Scotchgard. —Kathlene Vercellino
