| Article | Shaw Industries is back on top as it was voted Best Overall Manufacturer in the 15th annual Award of Excellence competition. This was the third time in the award’s history that Shaw took top honors, which it last held in 2008. It also received the Award of Excellence for Environmental Leadership for the second straight year. Sponsored by Floor Covering News and the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), the Award of Excellence is a way for manufacturers’ customers—retailers, distributors, designers, installers, specifiers, etc.—to honor the companies they feel help them best in running a successful, profitable business operation, whether it be a retail store, a distributorship, a design center, an installation showroom, and so on. FCNews readers, members of the WFCA as well as any other industry personnel not employed by a manufacturer were eligible to vote for the mills they felt best met the criteria—service, professionalism of sales force, management responsiveness, value, design, B2B, handling of claims and ease of doing business—in the six individual floor covering categories— Carpet, Area Rugs, Resilient, Hardwood, Ceramic and Laminate—as well as the top Overall company. Voting was held between October and February. FCNews and WFCA will kick off the 16th Award of Excellence competition starting in October. |
