| Article | DALTON—IVC U.S. hosted a gathering of more than 200 people recently—including Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle as well as several IVC executives—at the official grand opening of its new headquarters, manufacturing facility and distribution center here. The event featured guest speakers, a ribbon cutting and tours of the new facility. “We are excited to unveil our new home to our customers and community partners,” said IVC U.S. CEO Xavier Steyaert. “Many people have helped take this project from a concept to a realization, and we are now ready to celebrate everyone’s commitment and hard work.” The construction, codenamed Project Stella, took only 15 months to build. Situated on a 44-acre plot, the facility encompasses 520,000 square feet and offers IVC half a million square feet of future expansion space. Project Stella also spurred economic development, bringing 150 sustainable jobs to the Dalton community. “The investment that IVC has made in our community will impact Dalton and Whitfield County for many years to come,” said Brian Anderson, president and CEO of the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce. “We hope other companies are inspired by IVC’s commitment and growth in northwest Georgia.” Harold Brooker, a member of the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners, was a part of the IVC deal. He believes securing the company put the county on the minds of other companies. “I think that was a plus for us in economic development. We’re known through the state now.” IVC’s use of cutting-edge technology is evident in the new manufacturing facility. The plant features the longest vinyl line in the world, according to Steyaert, and is equipped with other models of state-of-the-art machinery. Green-friendly technology, such as a 454 solar panel energy system that produces enough energy to power 10 American homes, and a closed loop water recycling system were also incorporated into the design of the new facility, which features the following green initiatives: • Lift trucks will be powered by solar energy. • The inks used in the printing process are water based and recyclable. • The production line and factory HVAC system were developed with state-of-the-art energy efficiency.
