| Article | Matthew Spieler, center, senior executive editor of FCNews, was one of the featured speakers at the second annual Wood Flooring Forum in Shanghai, China. The full-day conference was designed to foster relations between wood buyers and suppliers around the world. This year’s theme was “Global Market & Sustainable Trade.” Spieler acted as both speaker and co-moderator of the panel discussion that highlighted and explained what Western buyers want and need from foreign suppliers. On the panel with Spieler were, from left, Wu Shengfu, director, international department of China National Forest Product Industry Association, who co-moderated the session; Guo Hui, CEO of Power Dekor, one of China’s largest and best known flooring companies; Frederik Dreesman, group manager of Homedecor International, who gave the European perspective, and Robert Banks, executive officer of BuildDirect. More than 300 people, including mill executives and Chinese government officials, attended the full-day conference that took place the day prior to Domotex asia/ChinaFloor. |
