Article St. Louis—Solutia has made extensive personnel changes throughout its Wear-Dated fiber departments in order to meet the demands of the ever-changing marketplace. “There have been significant changes in the marketplace,” said Gary Lanser, Solutia’s general manager. “In order to continue to work in lockstep with both mill and retail partners, we saw the need to adjust our programs and realign the efforts of our regional managers and Wear-Dated representatives.”

Additions to the carpet fiber team include: Mark Bass is business director of carpet fibers. Bass was formerly with Solutia’s Acrilan division as well as Wear-Dated. Mike Hamlin, manager of new product development, had worked with BASF for 18 years. His experience includes textile fiber and new product development. Bruce Elliston is senior account executive. He has 29 years of industry experience through working with BASF, Tapestron International and American Home Designs.

Barry Nicks took on the duties of director of national sales for Wear-Dated. He comes from Tarkett which he joined after working for Solutia’s Acrilan and Wear-Dated divisions. Joey Barbaree, sales rep, has 15 years of sales and marketing experience. He has worked for Shaw, Mohawk, Synthetic Industries and, most recently, Universal Textile Technologies. “Our brand remains strong,” noted Keith Barbaree, director of Wear-Dated.

“The fact that we have retained key members of our team, attracted strong, new talent, have kept all of our major customers and continue to generate sales is testament to that. As we move forward, we are confident the people in place will contribute significantly to our continued growth.” For more information on Solutia, call 314/674-4292.
