Dalton—With an eye on growth and increased efficiency, Dixie Home is expanding its operations into a 400,000-sq.-ft. distribution facility in Eton, Ga. The new facility became operational last month. The broadloom manufacturer credits several years of strong sales and rapid growth in new product introductions for the expansion. The Dixie Group, the parent company of Dixie Home, reported an 18% gain in carpet sales during the first quarter of 2005, with over 50% of the revenue growth coming from the Dixie Home brand, noted Daniel Frierson, chairman and CEO of the Dixie Group. “Dixie Home continues to meet or exceed our expectations. “The new building will increase Dixie Home’s inventory capacity for both running line and sample goods and will allow for even further growth in the future,” he added. The company chose the North Georgia location because of its centralized location and proximity to carpet manufacturing and shipping capabilities.
