Article Lancaster, PA, March, 2010 – ECOsurfaces announces its listing on ecoScorecard’s online recycled products database. Promoting increased sustainable product awareness, ECOsurfaces is one of the first recycled rubber brands to be featured on the site. Its listing invites visitors to take a closer look at the material components used to produce its environmentally responsible surfacing solutions and the third-party standards that they meet.

ECOsurfaces’ ecoScorecard listing provides visitors with an organized and effective search tool, whether seeking information on indoor air quality adherence or considering color swatches and recycled composition.

In addition to providing a detailed product breakdown by pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content, each ecoScorecard listing can indicate whether specific products are certified according to independent standards and have a product listing. To make obtaining this information clear and easy, visitors are able to search for products by category, product line, pre-consumer recycled content, or keyword. The clear breakdown of physical characteristics established through the ecoScorecared listing provides architects, designers, and building decision makers with the information they need to achieve their desired level of sustainability.

“We are excited to introduce ecoScorecard to our representatives and customers,” states Kate Lowry, product manager, ECORE International. “The information availability and organization that ecoScorecard provides will help anyone working with our company to gain a more comprehensive understanding of our products and our environmental commitments.”

The recycled content breakdown for each ECOsurfaces product contains exact information for the referenced products. However, for the ECOrx and ECOsilence collections from ECOsurfaces, the minimum recycled content is considered for accurate specification considerations. Products within these collections may include greater recycled content, but do not include any less than the stated amounts.

About ecoScorecard
ecoScorecard was created in 2007 by Paul Shahriari and Martin Flaherty. As a team, they were committed to providing a green building promotional tool that allows visitors to compare sustainable product characteristics against industry standards. They began to build the database from the perspective of the end user, making it a priority to clearly present manufacturers’ green product data in an easily comprehended manner. Today, ecoScorecard compares residential and commercial products to an extensive list of industry standards including all current and previous LEED rating systems, LEED for Canada, CHPS 2009 & 2006, LABS21, LEED for Homes, ReGreen, and NAHB’s National Green Building Standard.

About Ecore International
ECORE International, manufacturer of ECOsurfaces, has been at the forefront of recycling efforts since their inception in 1989. Twenty years ago, ECORE pioneered the recycled rubber flooring category. Today, as North America’s largest user of recycled scrap tire rubber, ECORE processes more than 80 million pounds of scrap tire rubber each year, and helps to conserve more than one million barrels of oil in the process to convert pliable treads into durable product solutions for commercial, industrial and architectural applications.
