| Article | DALTON GA, May 23, 2010 – Carl Bouckaert could be the fittest, if not the most competitive, floor covering executive in America. So his selection as Chairman for the North Georgia Start! Heart Walk seemed as natural as his routine 5-mile speed walking pace at under an hour. Or his daily workouts. Or his years as an Olympic-class Three Day Equestrian competitor with his beloved Belgian team. Along side Carl on this warm spring Sunday in North Georgia were almost 1,000 fitness devotees across the 2-mile course raising money for charity. Beaulieu of America associates raised almost $10,000, with the Beaulieu Bypass facility raising almost half of that, according to Dale Huffstetler, Regional Director of the American Heart Association. Also recognized at the fitness event were Lifestyle Change Award winners from Beaulieu of America. Some had lost significant weight. Others had stopped smoking or had quit the need for prescription medications. All were encouraged and praised. Beaulieu’s corporate commitment to fitness and wellness earned recognition earlier this year by Fortune magazine and the American Heart Association; as well as company president and CEO Ralph Boe’s 2-Million Mile Challenge to associates encouraging a daily regimen of walking for improved health.
