Article | Dallas, May 18, 2010 – Flooring Industries, the intellectual property company of the Unilin Group, has signed a settlement agreement with Multisol, a flooring importer and distributor based in Quebec, Canada. The settlement provides financial compensation for Multisol’s past imports and sales of alleged infringing flooring manufactured by Yekalon and establishes an agreement to not infringe on Unilin patent rights in the future. Flooring Industries will continue to take all necessary actions against companies that infringe on Unilin’s glueless patent portfolio. One such patent infringement case has recently been filed in the Federal Court of Toronto. Flooring Industries has instructed its North American legal advisors to take all necessary steps against the remaining importers and distributors that are doing business with alleged infringing products.
