Article | CHICOPEE, MASS.—To help celebrate the opening of its state-of- the-art, 40,000 square foot SuperCenter distribution warehouse here as well as thank customers for a “fantastic year,” Salesmaster Flooring Solutions, in conjunction with Roppe, hosted an invitational golf tournament last month. “Both companies wanted to acknowledge our customers in this region for their tremendous support over the past year,” noted Ray Izatt, Salesmaster’s vice president of sales. “And since we just recently opened our newest distribution center, what better time than to host some of your key customers to a day in the sun followed by dinner at a country club?” A total of 100 golfers participated including 80 top customers of Salesmaster and Roppe. The day began with a breakfast buffet at Salesmaster’s new facility, which gave the distributor a more centralized location to service this portion of the region. Steven Kurtz, Salesmaster’s president, called the facility the company’s “missing link” in its quest to be “the premier New England regional floor covering distributor,” noting “we already had the product lines, experienced personnel and mindset of total customer satisfaction.” He added Chicopee is centrally located and allowed the distributor to consolidate the human resources of sales, architectural and design staff, drivers, branch managers and business developers together under one roof to “deliver better service and internal/external communication.” The move resulted in “faster service for our customers— contractors, installation workrooms, home improvement centers and retail floor covering stores.” |
