In November 1987 this photo had an historical significance. Those were the days of markets around the country twice a year with each mart vying for the edge in attendance. At a special meeting hosted by the Retail Floorcovering Institute (RFI), four merchandise marts were represented and this picture entered the annals of the floor covering industry. Shown here, from the left, are Brad Hoover of the Dallas Market Center; Chas Sydney of the Atlanta Merchandise Mart; Dick McAdams, RFI chairman; Dave Palmer of the Western Merchandise Mart (San Francisco), and Bob Barrett of the Chicago Merchandise Mart. That was long ago and far away.
