| Article | LAGRANGE, GA.—Some companies have hinted at it, but Milliken has decided to act: As of Aug. 31, it eliminated all paper acknowledgements of orders in favor of sending them electronically. Bill Gregory, director of sustainability for Milliken, said this move is part of an ongoing effort to reduce waste. “Not only does this save time and paper, it conserves envelopes, postage, toner and energy.” He added the mill’s Chain of Green Network (CGN) partners also will benefit from more timely information exchanges, added convenience, and less confusion due to multiple notice formats. Milliken’s CGN encourages sustainability throughout the supply chain as the company works to educate the marketplace regarding the benefits of green choices in operations and products.
