Article | As a flooring manufacturer, Forbo clearly understands the importance of quality installations as a critical element in having satisfied customers. Because of that, Forbo remains very appreciative of the opportunity to partner with INSTALL in working toward our mutual goal of improving the knowledge and skills of resilient flooring installers. One of the keys to Forbo’s success has been to stress the importance of quality installations by encouraging specifiers to include a requirement for certified installers in the Quality Assurance section of their specifications. As part of our commitment to INSTALL, Forbo is also asking specifiers to include in their specifications the INSTALL Resilient Certification as comparable to Forbo’s Associate Mechanic Certification. In addition to working with specifiers, Forbo also works hard with all of our customers in an effort to “steer” business toward flooring contractors that utilize trained and certified installers. The INSTALL Resilient Certification is a valuable resource for all aspects of our business. As I often say, “We sell half of a product. The sell is completed only when our products have been successfully installed.” INSTALL’s commitment to installer training is a tremendous benefit to flooring manufacturers. INSTALL’s efforts are leading the way in expanding the pool of qualified installers and, once again, Forbo appreciates the opportunity to partner with this quality organization.
