Article | LOTHIAN, MD.—Recently teeing off for the first time at the Old South Country Club golf course, L&L Co. enjoyed a successful 23rd annual charity golf tournament. Even in the current slow economy, The L&L and its sponsors managed to raise $18,000 for the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation and had a full field of players. “We’ve partnered with Believe in Tomorrow since 1996,” said Mike Geisler, L&L’s president. “This brings our total raised to more than $358,000 in 13 years. “It’s a remarkable experience to see so many people support such a wonderful cause. Even though our industry, and the economy in general, is experiencing a downturn, it’s encouraging to garner so much support. Regrettably, sickness still invades people’s lives, but fortunately there are people like Brian Morrison of Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation who have a mission to help provide comfort. We look forward to putting on this event every year and to help do something great for the community.” Sponsors of the event included Armstrong, Mannington, J.J. Haines, Dixie Home, Shaw Industries, Mohawk Industries, Stainmaster Carpet and many more. A special award was presented to Jeff Striegel, president and CEO of Elias Wilf, for his years of commitment and dedication to the tournament. |
