| Article | HARTFORD, CONN.— “With all of the negative talk about the economy and the business environment, this evening is a very positive event, where we can recognize both the people and the installations that make the floor covering business so enjoyable.” So said Leggett & Platt’s Jon Thierfeld, who serves as past president of the Connecticut Floor Covering Association (CFCA), during the organization’s recent gala 10th anniversary awards night. The event attracted 186 people, the association’s largest turnout in its history. The association was established in 1945. “Tonight is proof of your commitment to our profession,” he explained. “The number of nomination forms that were submitted this past year validates the fact that we will keep the floor covering industry in Connecticut strong.” Thierfeld, who called the event a “huge success,” served as master of ceremonies for the evening, which saw several awards presented during an evening filled with camaraderie, optimism and unity. “It’s exciting to see the way both business owners and employees react when they’re recognized for their installations and accomplishments.” The CFCA continues to have a strong core of dedicated members that enjoy working together to put on an assortment of programs, he added. “I believe that as the years go on and the faces change, each group that has passed through has inspired the newer board members to continue to take on the challenge. CFCA was formed in 1945 and almost 65 years later, we areas strong as ever.” |
