| Article | CHICAGO, February 17, 2009 – Italian stone and tile manufacturer GranitiFiandre has launched their Stone Forest Collection to the US Market. Evoking the geological evolution of nature’s woodlands in transforming plant, bark, and fossils throughout the ages, the Stone Forest Collection offers the textured beauty of petrified wood in a durable porcelain tile product. “Stone Forest imparts the character, beauty, and prestige of petrified wood to its environment without the maintenance complications common with its quarried counterpart. Unlike petrified wood that requires polishing to maintain its luster and for stain removal, Stone Forest is virtually maintenance-free and stain-resistant,” said Jeanne Nichols, vice president—sales and marketing for GranitiFiandre in the United States. Due to its high performance technical characteristics, including stain, water, frost, and UV-resistance, Stone Forest is particularly well-suited for high traffic, bath/kitchen, and exterior installations. Stone Forest can be utilized as a floating floor when installed with GranitiFiandre’s Granitech System – something not achievable with traditional petrified wood. Two striking color options are available: Black Canyon and Muir Woods. Sizing includes 36"x 18", 36"x 9", 36"x 4", 18"x 18", and 9"x 9" formats, along with special pieces and trims, in a slate finish. Stone Forest is the latest addition to the company’s Geologica Collection—GranitiFiandre’s showcase of excellence—a comprehensive collection of distinctive, high quality, porcelain surfacing products whose origins span a half-century of Italian innovation and technological progress.
