| Article | NEUMARKT, GERMANY—Ralf Eisermann has been named CEO of Pfleiderer AG’s flooring division, which includes Pergo and Uniboard. In addition, Sascha Kostros was appointed head of worldwide research and development for Pleiderer Schweiz AG, which manages the laminate flooring operations in North America and Europe. Eisermann will report to Hans Overdiek, Pfleiderer’s CEO, and will oversee the company’s worldwide flooring-related activities. Overdiek noted the appointment is part of a strategic initiative to centralize the company’s global flooring business under one roof. “The appointment is part of a key initiative that will serve to streamline and grow our global flooring business,” said George Kelley, CEO of Pergo North America. “His industry experience will no doubt be an invaluable asset.” Eisermann brings over 12 years of industry experience—particularly in the laminate category. His primary focus will be to utilize this knowledge and further develop Pfleiderer’s laminate flooring business, including penetrating new markets. “I am thrilled to broaden my reach in the flooring industry and to work with the leading manufacturer of laminate,” he said. “Pergo has an unwavering focus on quality and innovation, and I look forward to reinforcing its position in the laminate category.” Kostros, who will report directly to Eisermann, will primarily be responsible for driving Pergo’s innovative products and technologies. Key tasks will include working closely with trend scouts of Material ConneXion, which has been advising Pergo’s development department on trends, materials and process issues since the end of last year. “I am excited to be working with Pergo, which is not only the inventor of the laminate category, but also enjoys a solid history of developing ground-breaking technologies,” Kostros—who brings over 18 years of industry experience— explained. He brings over 18 years of industry experience, including Tarkett. “They make an ideal team to head up our global flooring business, and with their combined experience and shared vision, we are well positioned to continue dominating the laminate flooring industry and leading the category in sales and product innovation,” Kelley said. |
