This photo was taken in 1960 in the Congoleum-Nairn showroom. Lee Kolker, director of design, is about to set off the first stage in a major promotion for Americana, a new Flor-Ever vinyl, “styled and priced for the mass tract housing market.” Participating in the promotion are Bill Martin, left, vice president of advertising, and John Murphy, general sales manager, waiting for the blast off. The firecracker is actually a sample mailing tube in which dealers from around the country are getting their Americana samples.
