| Article | KANSAS CITY, MO.—In a continued effort to advance and expand its initiative, Pamela Bowe has relinquished her position as co-president of the Floor Covering Business to Business Association (fcB2B) to take the helm of its new, paid staff as executive director. Aaron Pirner, who will remain president of the association, announced the group’s step forward in a letter to members last month, stating, “I am very excited... we have contracted with Bowe Co. to lead our association, and Pam is a dedicated, organized and capable leader. With her knowledge, experience and dedication of fcB2B for all these years, she is the natural choice for this incredibly important position.” Bowe, who has been an innovator in the industry’s technology segment since the ’80s, is equally as excited to be taking on the new role, with a goal of demystifying the technology process and empowering users at all levels. “Our goal is to expand the awareness of the practical functions of fcB2B usage to the dealer community,” she explained. “We will assist distribution, manufacturing, channel groups and other participants by providing the necessary infrastructure to collaboratively deploy [industry] standards that will uniformly enable a broad range of software solutions to connect data electronically with the fcB2B technology.” As executive director, Bowe will be the hub and manage the spokes of the initiative, Pirner explained, calling her the key leader to fcB2B. “I am excited to see how the rate of change of our initiatives change with her at the helm,” he said. “We won’t change our goals or mission; we just won’t have the obstacles of our businesses getting in the way as happens with volunteers.” However, he noted, the association will still depend on its volunteer base and supporters—WFCA, NAFCD, NWFA, CRI and CTDA—in moving the venture forward. “We have made tremendous strides with our all-volunteer force, and I don’t want anyone to think we will be relying on you less as a group. To succeed in our effort, we will still need all of your creative energy and hard work as before.” For more on fcB2B, visit its new Web site at www.fcB2B.com. |
