Article December 3, 2008, KETTERING, Ohio — GE Money announces two special year-end opportunities for its flooring retail customers to participate in a free training webinar focused on leveraging best practices in a tough economy. Benefits of the training sessions include:

• Confident sales staff will be more comfortable using financing to their advantage.

• Sales staff will be better equipped to sell bigger ticket items to more consumers.

Flooring retailers and sales associates are encouraged to participate in one of two virtual training sessions, which will take place on:

• Tuesday, December 9th from 11am until 12pm EST, and

• Thursday, December 11th from 1pm until 2pm EST.

To register for one of the free training sessions, flooring retailers should have their GE Money merchant numbers handy and contact Nia Evans at 937-534-2393 or nia.evans@ge.com.

Both webinars will feature interactive sessions with private label credit experts from GE Money as well as internationally recognized retail business consultant and author, Sam Allman. Retailers will utilize the new Training Resource Center at www.gemoney.com/training to participate in the session, and the first 25 dealers to sign up will receive a free, customized Sales Assessment Report by Allman Consulting to help assess and improve the skills of their sales staff.

“As consumers continue to become more and more prudent about their purchasing decisions for big-ticket items like flooring, it is critical that retailers and their sales associates take every opportunity to maximize the benefits of financing,” said Sam Allman of Allman Consulting. “There are several fundamental business principles of running a retail business successfully in tough economic conditions, and financing is an important one. I’m happy to do whatever I can to help get the word out.”

GE Money’s Sales Finance unit introduced the Training Resource Center earlier this year to help retail business owners and sales associates better understand and effectively communicate financing to consumers. The innovative, self-paced educational course list was developed in direct response to client requests for comprehensive training on how to effectively explain credit and increase customer satisfaction through financing. The online Training Resource Center, which can be accessed at www.gemoney.com/training, provides a collection of interactive courses targeted toward financing program options, including:

• Selling with Financing – an overview of financing and promotional credit, plus techniques to educate consumers about financing as a payment option.

• Application Processing – an overview of how to help customers accurately complete a credit application, steps to submit them and how to process sales.

• Marketing and Business Integration – ideas to help build customer relationships, motivate teams and expand business by generating leads, driving traffic and using marketing tools.
