| Article | WEST BLOOMFIELD, MICH.— The Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association (FCICA) is sponsoring a three-hour educational workshop at Surfaces ’09 in Las Vegas. “Going Beyond Residential – Expanding into the Commercial Market” takes place Feb. 2, starting at 9 a.m. and is broken into three parts. Section one is about getting started the right way for your company, including hiring and training tips; section two examines marketing, bidding and negotiating techniques, working with mills and their reps, writing proposals and more, and section three focuses on managing commercial jobs, dealing with difficult clients, invoicing and collecting and planning for the future. The course will be taught by a panel of experts: FCICA member Dave Stafford, Sim Crisler of LGM & Associates, and Nicholas Mazz Sr. of Premiere Flooring Systems.
