| Article | DALTON—The Georgia Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) has awarded Shaw Industries with its Corporate Environmental Award for the manufacturer’s various waste management practices. AWMA board directors Al Edwards and Rick Turner said Shaw received the award based, in part, on its embrace of cradle-to-cradle recycling and waste-to-energy recycling practices. “Shaw’s effort to move toward complete sustainability and its work to design innovative solutions and technologies to continue along that path exemplify the goals of the association.” AWMA recognizes companies that demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability and have instituted practices or procedures that show a dedication to going beyond regulatory compliance.
