Article Minneapolis, MN, August 20, 2008 — Bench Dog Tools, Inc., a distributor of premium router tables and woodworking accessories, is proud to announce the release of its new ProMaxRT, the world’s largest, flattest, and most durable router tabletop. Precision-machined from cast iron, the 1-1/2" thick ProMaxRT leverages a combination of unmatched size and innovative design to deliver a lifetime, or longer, of professional-grade performance.

“The key improvement with the ProMaxRT is size,” says Bench Dog’s vice president of product development Steve Krohmer. “We expanded the working area to over five square feet — an unprecedented amount of space for a cast-iron router table. It’s as big as our phenolic model and provides more than enough room for almost any application.”

Weighing in at nearly 100 pounds, the new top is one of the heaviest currently available. The added size and weight reduce vibration for smoother cuts, while premium features like Bench Dog’s signature Dual-Track accessory slots give woodworkers several options for precise routing setups.

The Dual-Track consists of both a standard miter slot and a Universal T-Track with stacked grooves to accept any featherboard, stop, or other accessory with 5/16" t-bolts, 1/4" t-bolts, or 1/4" hex bolts. The ProMaxRT’s unique design has the two slots machined directly into the table-surface, providing a clean look and upholding the top’s durable one-piece construction.

The ProMaxRT is machine-ground to an incredible degree of flatness — within .008”. No other top on the market is that level. An integrated 12-point router plate leveling and locking system maintains this flat plane throughout operation by keeping the plate perfectly flush with the table’s surface.

The new larger plate opening in the ProMaxRT equips it to house even the biggest 3 HP routers. The 8-1/4" x 11-3/4" opening matches Bench Dog’s new redesigned aluminum router plates as well as the feature-rich ProLift — both of which are also launching this fall.

With a warp-proof cast-iron body, zero add-on parts, and all the capability you could ask for in a table, the ProMaxRT will likely outlive any router it holds.

“This is an heirloom tool, no question about it,” says Krohmer. “It will last for generations.”

The ProMaxRT is available at woodworking stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. Suggested pricing for a combo package featuring the new tabletop along with Bench Dog’s 32" ProFence and ProPlate router plate is $599.99. The top is also available for individual purchase. Additional product information can be found in the 2009 Bench Dog catalog or by calling 1-800-786- 902.
