| Article | The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), the largest tile contractors association in the world, is opening the doors of the 2008 Total Solutions Business and Technical Conference to the architect and design community with continuing education credits for all A&D attendees. The 2008 Total Solutions Conference will be held at the fabulous Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center on the Potomac River on September 18-20, 2008. More than 400 contractors, distributors, dealers and manufacturers from across the country already attend the two full-days of education and informational conferences and seminars. The NTCA is now expanding its focus to invite members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI), the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for inclusion in the world-class event, as well as all other professionals in the A&D community. The A&D Breakout session will begin Thursday, September 18th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with Scott Fleming of Oceanside Glasstile discussing Large Format Glass Tile, followed by a 2:00-3:15 p.m. discussion on the Aesthetic and Sustainable Benefits of Ventilated Wall Systems by Michael P. Johnson of Ceramic Tiles of Italy. Finally, Patti Fasan from Tile of Spain will be covering Architectural Specification of Ceramic Tile from 3:30-5:00 p.m. “One of our main missions as an association is to help the architectural, design and building industries gain a better understanding of the uses and benefits of tile and stone,” said Bart Bettiga, executive director of the NTCA. “By educating these professionals about our trade, we play a key role in improving the quality of the design and specification of our products, resulting in successful and long-lasting installations." Registration is free and the A&D community is invited to attend the annual Table Top Event, which will feature more than 40 displays and various door prizes awarded every hour. Cocktails and hors d’oeurves will be available. NTCA is a non-profit trade association serving every segment of the industry, spearheading education for the professional installation of ceramic tile and allied products.
