Article The 2008 Commercial Construction Show, owned and produced by D&D Communications Group, LLC, attracted more than 2,000 attendees and 300 exhibitors to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida for another very successful show in early June.

Retailers, hospitality professionals, healthcare executives, architects and designers that attended the event were able to view the industry’s latest information and products, including the 2008 top-three products awarded at the New Product Pavilion. First place was awarded to Howard Lighting for its High Bay Fluorescent Fixtures; second place went to Ad Art for its Flexible LED Light Tubing by Ad Art; third place winners were Saul Signs for its Solar and LED Signage.

A new feature of the 2008 Commercial Construction Show was a joint Summit luncheon as a part of the Retail, Healthcare and Hospitality Summit, a full-day executive summit program. The working luncheon featured Chester Elton, co-author of the popular book, The Carrot Principle, based on the research from a 10-year study of 200,000 managers and employees on how the best managers use recognition to engage their people, retain talent and accelerate performance.

“Even though travel budgets have been cut this year with the economic downturn, we still had a very nice turn out,” said David Corson, president of D&D Communications Group, LLC. “Many attendees at our show were looking to do business and not window shopping like many of the other shows that I attend during the year. We have always preached quality as our show has grown….And at our show, it only takes one sale for the show to pay for itself.”

The 2009 Commercial Construction Show will be held on June 2-4 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. D&D Communications Group, LLC owns and publishes three industry-segment-leading business-to-business publications – Retail Construction Magazine, Healthcare Building Ideas and Hospitality Construction. In addition to the Commercial Construction Show, D&D also owns two networking groups – The Retail People and Hospitality People – as well as executive retreats in all three market segments. The company also publishes Commercial Kitchens, a semi-annual supplement that is distributed with all three regular publications.
