Article | BALTIMORE—For 22 years The L&L Co. has held a golf tournament to not only thank customers and suppliers but to give back to the community. Since 1996 it has teamed up with Believe In Tomorrow National Children’s Foundation. With the help of tournament sponsors, which once again included Floor Covering News, this year’s event took in $47,000 and raised L&L’s total contribution to over $340,000 over the past 12 years. The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House provides a family-focused supportive center for children receiving medical care at the Johns Hopkins Children Center. Mike Geisler, L&L’s president, noted, “Even though our industry is experiencing a drastic downturn, it is encouraging to garner so much support. Regrettably, over the years, there have been more of our associates that have required the need of the house, but fortunately it is there to help provide comfort. We look forward to putting on this event every year and to help do something great for the community.” Brian Morrison, Believe In Tomorrow’s founder, said the support from L&L and its partners “has helped to bring joy, comfort and hope to all of the families that reside at our Believe In Tomorrow House’s at Johns Hopkins and St. Casimir.” In addition to FCNews, some of the event’s sponsors included Elias Wilf, Mannington Mills, J.J. Haines, Dixie Home Group, Shaw, Mohawk, Grasmick Lumber, Solutia, Ryan Homes and Gemcraft Homes. Along with raising money for Believe in Tomorrow, a special award and recognition was presented to Jerry Clark of Grasmick Lumber for his years of commitment and dedication to the tournament.
