By now the company is offering a wide selection of FSC Pure and FSC CONTROLLED WOOD-certified veneer and lumber. Moreover, Danzer Group will soon be able to offer also African timber with the FSC-Full label. “FSC-Certificates offer our customers a high degree of reliability and certainty that our wood products come from legally and sustainably managed forests,” says Olof von Gagern, Danzer Group CEO for Veneer Europe and Lumber Europe/Africa. “At the same time, we are also improving the marketing potential for our customers’ products because the demand for certified wood products is growing.” Danzer veneer with FSC CONTROLLED WOOD certificates Danzer Group offers FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Controlled Wood verified veneer, lumber and logs. Controlled Wood verified veneer is key to supplying and marketing products with the FSC-Mixed Label. Each wood product must consist of at least 70 percent FSC-Pure certified wood. The remaining wood must comply with the FSC CONTROLLED WOOD standard. Danzer Group can deliver a broad range of FCS CONTROLLED WOOD verified veneer made from all European and North American species and from important African species. Most of Danzer Group’s European and North American veneer production as well as more than 50 percent of the production at Danzer Group’s African companies are FSC CONTROLLED WOOD verified. In addition, the new wooden surface Vinterio is FSC CONTROLLED WOOD verified. FSC-Pure-Certificates for African timber Soon, Danzer Group will also be able to offer logs, lumber and veneer with the FSC-Fulllabel from its African forest concessions. The step-by-step FSC certification process will begin this year in cooperation with the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF). Danzer Group’s African subsidiaries have already passed independent legality audits. The certificates verify the legal origin of all timber coming from the own concessions.
