Article CLEVELAND—Waterlox has seen an increase in demand for its wood finishing products recently due to the increased interest in rustic flooring, according to the company. While polyurethane finishes leave a plastic layer on top of the textured wood surface, oil-based finishes penetrate into the pores of the wood, providing a rich, natural looking surface that enhances the beauty of distressed flooring, noted Jay Hawkins, president and CEO. “We hear from many flooring specialists who’ve grown frustrated with the polyurethane finishes,” he said. “They simply don’t work on handscraped or distressed floors because the finish doesn’t soak into the wood properly. They find with Waterlox they can get the job done the first time.”

Waterlox will be exhibiting at the NWFA convention, March 25 to 28. For more information, please call 800.321.0377 or visit www.waterlox.com.
