In this newly created position, Elliott will oversee the growth and development of residential broadloom and area rug accounts west of the Mississippi. Reporting to Couristan’s Chairman, George Couri and its President, Ron Couri, Elliott will direct a seasoned team of Residential Territory Managers located across more than 25 states, expanding the company’s dealer network and increasing brand awareness for its broadloom and area rug products, as well as increasing the placement of its exclusive broadloom and area rug fixtures to qualified dealers. In addition, Elliott will be responsible to increase Couristan’s Territory Managers in selected markets. Elliott brought his buyer’s knowledge to the vendor side when he assumed his first sales position in 1991 and since then he has held several senior management sales positions for various high-end consumer brands. Most recently, Elliott was National Sales Manager for Tufenkian Artisan Carpets, where he helped expand distribution, select new products and drive marketing initiatives for key accounts. In his new post with Couristan, Elliott will direct a strong team of Residential Territory Managers who serve a variety of customers, from national accounts to specialty home goods stores as well as the professional design community. Tapping into his knowledge of the floorcovering industry and his understanding of what a buyer is looking for, Elliott will assist his team in devising customized product assortments that feature Couristan’s versatile array of handmade and power-loomed area rugs as well as its dynamic residential broadloom collections.
