Article | Anaheim, Calif.—The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), in conjunction with Bridgeway Interactive and the Creating Your Space (CYS) program, are offering three tiers of Web design to WFCA member sites—Premium, Elite and Elite Custom. Each provides retailers a unique interface, offering customization, advanced tools and product information. Officials promised no two sites will ever look alike. To date, over 120 dealer locations are taking part in the program. “Our goal with the program and our partnership with CYS is to empower our members by providing them with quick, easy and affordable tools to better service their customers,” said Chris Davis, WFCA’s president and CEO. “Our dealer Web site program offers a unique tie-in arrangement allowing us to tap into and steer traffic from our existing consumer site and extend the same brand promise along to end users purchasing flooring from their local WFCA retailer.” And, according to Bridgeway research, the myriad of tools it designed for the WFCA member sites are resonating with customers, noted Michael Vogel, president and CEO of Bridgeway. He said members involved in the program have some of the “stickiest sites in the industry. In other words, consumers using these sites are surfing, reading and researching much longer than the industry average.” Steve Chesin, president and CEO of Carpets N More in Las Vegas, said since his store’s site (www.carpetsnmore.com) launched, it has experienced a huge increase in traffic. “We truly hit a homerun. We have a virtual storefront that works for us 24/7 and drives traffic into our brick and mortar stores.” He suggested a CYS site is a must for any retailer looking to grow business. “This partnership has paid for itself tenfold.” Jeri Pischke, vice president of Home Valu Interiors based in the Minneapolis area, agreed, pointing to the site’s range of options and customization availabilities as one of the best aspects. “We are so pleased with the look and feel; our customers are using every tool and are coming back for more all of the time. Homevalu.com launched in September, and I challenge you to find a similar environment online.” The latest advancements are: •“Design Your Room,” which allows users to access and customize uploaded photos of their own rooms through the virtual room designer area. •“Room Maker,” a tool permitting users to create floor layouts of the rooms they are shopping for new flooring for. •CYS is also adding a search engine marketing tool to help raise the profile of a retailer’s site through local search engine optimization rankings on Google, Yahoo!, MSN and more.
