Article DALTON (January 4, 2008)— Bob Nichols has been named Vice President of Northeastern Sales for Mohawk Industries’ Hard Surfaces Division. He will be responsible for managing Mohawk’s Northeast and Mid-Central regions.

Nichols will provide sales leadership, industry expertise, and general management to grow Mohawk’s hard surface businesses in his regions. He will report to Bob Leahy, Mohawk Senior Vice President, Hard Surfaces.

“Bob Nichols has been an accomplished individual in our industry for more than two decades,” Leahy said. “He has strong relationships with dealers, and is well respected for his understanding of independent distribution. Bob will not only help us in his regions’ markets, but his knowledge will benefit Mohawk nationally as we continue to build our Hard Surfaces program.”

“Mohawk is the strongest brand in flooring. Our goal is that floorcovering dealers make Mohawk their first call for hard surface products. The way to do this is to make our sales representatives and product line the most professional in the industry,” Nichols said.

In addition, Mohawk announced that Rik Born, Mohawk VP Hard Surfaces, has been given expanded responsibilities for Mohawk’s South Central region along with his current duties in the Southeast and North Central regions.

Nichols began in the flooring industry in 1987. Most recently, he was President of Superior Products, an independent distributor in the Mid-Atlantic, with revenues in excess of $150 million. Nichols also currently serves on the board of the National Wood Flooring Association.
