Trend-setting. Abbey Carpet held its third annual convention in the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in February 1987, when this photo was taken. Twenty years later Shaw Industries and Flooring Alliance are planning to hold meetings at AmericasMart Atlanta. Abbey had 172 members then and today it has more than 750 as it approaches its 50th anniversary.
