| Article | CHICAGO—The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) has opened registration for its 36th annual meeting and Distributor Marketplace, scheduled for Oct. 25 to 27, in Austin, Tex. In addition to its annual meeting, NAFCD is also conducting the second annual Distributor Marketplace, a face-to-face environment designed to facilitate buying and selling for both manufacturers and distributors. “The NAFCD Annual Meeting and Distributor Marketplace is an avenue of opportunity that fosters the exchange of ideas and solutions among industry peers,” said Maurice Desmarais, the organization’s executive vice president. “Currently, it is the only event of its kind in the flooring industry.” The meeting is providing a diverse blend of presenters speaking on a range of crucial industry topics, including: marketing, sales growth, productivity enhancement, forecasting and team building. This year’s keynote speaker, Ari Weinzweig, will be presenting “Key Elements of the Zingerman’s Experience: Building a Community of Businesses.” Weinzweig is a recognized author as well as the co-founder of Zingerman’s Community of Businesses, which began in 1982 with two employees. Today, with more than 400 employees and $30 million in annual sales, Zingerman’s has been named “The Coolest Small Company in America” by Inc. magazine. Weinzweig will share key elements that bind his businesses together into a community and those that differentiate Zingerman’s from the competition. The meeting is open to all NAFCD members, prospective NAFCD members and attendees’ guests. For more information, call 312.321.6836 or visit www.nafcd.org. |
