Article | Kansas City, Mo.—Weber Carpet recently re-joined ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” donating nearly $20,000 of product and over 106 hours of labor to the new Jacobo family home, where 12 people reside. The first time the company teamed up with the show was to reconstruct the Johnson family home in 2005 (FCNews, June 27/July 4). “The first time we were involved with an ‘Extreme Makeover’ project, I likened it to someone stirring up an ant pile with a stick and coming back in several days only to find it was completely rebuilt, even better,” said Jerry Ratway, builder division manager, Weber Carpet. “This time it was like stirring up a nest of army ants.” In this episode, which aired May 13, the original 915-square-foot house was torn down and replaced with a 5,700-square-foot “ant pile 6.22 times better than the last one, and all the army ants did their assigned jobs in just the right order.” |
