| Article | Berlin, Conn.—Accomplishments were recognized recently, as the Connecticut Floor Covering Association (CFCA) honored industry professionals at its annual Awards Night, here. “This is one of CFCA’s premier events and has become a celebration of our industry as well as an opportunity to recognize individuals for outstanding achievement,” said Brian Booth, the vice president of CFCA. Jon Thierfeld, a past president of the association, hosted the evening, with over 150 professionals in attendance. He, along with Joe DeMaio, CFCA’s current president, and Leslie Boyko, immediate past president, spoke to attendees on what the group is doing for its members—educationally and socially—such as the affiliations with organizations like the World Floor Covering Association. The award ceremony celebrated companies and installers for excellence in their respective areas. Byoko, also the first female president of the group, received a plaque recognizing her hard work and dedication to CFCA. A special recognition award was given to nine apprentices in the Connecticut Carpenters Union Floor Covering Program, and four members were presented with the association’s Lifetime Achievement Award—Alex Kalamian, Herman Rosenbaum, and Arthur and Harold Epstein. Applications for the 2007 Award Night are available. To learn more, visit www.thecfca.org. |
