| Article | The Carpet and Rug Institute’s (CRI) member companies recently formed a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) work group and produced a wealth of knowledge to be compiled for upcoming CEU courses. The classes are designed to provide unbiased, non-proprietary information about carpets to interior design and architect professionals. The information was passed on to the CRI Market and Technical Issues committees for approval. After gaining approval within the institute, the course ideas are submitted to the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and American Institute of Architects (AIA) for further endorsement. Thus far, CRI has five CEU courses available: Carpet Construction, Dye Methods, Carpet Testing Methods, Introduction to Carpet Specification and Carpet Maintenance. There is also one class—Fibers and Yarns—awaiting IIDA and AIA approval. For more information, call 706.428.2123 or visit www.carpet-rug.org. |
