| Article | SHANGHAI, CHINA—Interest in Chinese flooring among American manufacturers, importers and distributors has never been higher and that is not only evident by how many products are being brought into the U.S., but the growing interest in the ninth Domotex asia/ChinaFloor (DACF). Set to take place March 28 to 30 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, this year’s market is expected to attract more than 900 exhibitors and an estimated 35,000 visitors. To showcase the growing interest, a three-party flooring industry summit with leading associations from China, the U.S. and Europe has been scheduled for the morning of March 30. Representing the U.S. will be the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). It will be joined by the China National Forest Products Industry Association and the European Federation of Parquet Importers. The joint panel is expected to address many of the hot topics dominating the Chinese and international flooring markets as well as development trends to enhance communication within the industry. Recognizing the growing interest in this region and the market, VNU has partnered with Dave Spreen of Dave Spreen Enterprises to organize a flooring delegation to come to Shanghai. Spreen has organized and led several flooring delegations to China in recent years, including a successful venture to the China International Floor Coverings & Carpet Fair in Bejing last fall (FCNews, Dec. 11/18). Participants are being offered two options. The first is a la carte style and includes special hotel rates, free shuttle transportation, reception with exhibitors, optional factory visits and other VIP benefits. The second is being offered to associations and groups of more than 10, and includes seminars, sightseeing and assistance with travel reservations.
