This photo really goes back, 53 years. Sam O’Krent of O’Krent’s Abbey Flooring Center in San Antonio, Tex., wrote, “I just ran across an old photo of my grandfather’s and thought you might be interested.” We are! The picture was taken at the Chicago market of 1954, when Bigelow announced a new mill, Sanford Carpet Co. The six gentlemen seem to be having a jolly time and were probably given the key to the new company. The only one he could identify is his grandfather, Ted “TJ” O’Krent, second from the right. Might there be anyone out there who could identify the others? |
