| Article | Lynn Haven, Fla.—Roll-Master Flooring Software has rolled out a new product designed to bring B2B to dealers of all sizes, regardless of their current software or accounting system. The B2B standard (www.flooringb2bstandard.com) is the industry-accepted protocol for the electronic exchange of product and order information across the Internet. Major carpet manufacturers and the Carpet & Rug Institute (CRI) endorse the program, formally launched in January 2002. B2Bmaster provides floor covering business management tools. “It also delivers B2B functionality so that you can conduct transactions with your suppliers,” said Dev O’Reilly, CEO of Roll-Master Flooring Software. “B2Bmaster removes the usual hassle of installing and updating software on your PCs. It also eliminates the need for specialized computer hardware, servers and networks. If you have a Windows PC and broadband Internet access, you are all set. If you have your own accounting package, keep using it. “The purpose of B2Bmaster is, to permit you to immediately utilize the flooring industry’s B2B processes without changing your current management or accounting system.” B2Bmaster will enable any flooring dealer to ease into state-of-the-art flooring-specific technology without breaking the bank, noted O’Reilly. “B2Bmaster enables you to participate in and benefit from the flooring industry’s B2B initiative. B2Bmaster automates what dealers are doing manually while delivering the efficiencies of electronic commerce. “Since the product is Internet-based, dealers can conduct B2B transactions with B2B-capable trading partners without any significant investment or change in business accounting software.” O’Reilly said the new product is a good first step for a flooring retailer who wants to manage inventory and showroom pricing and submit purchase orders electronically with his suppliers, while having the potential to expand to manage the entire business. “I encourage dealers to use as much or as little of the flooring functionality as they want.” For more information, call Roll-Master at 800.777.4107. |
