| Article | Toronto—Lamwood Products has signed an exclusive agreement with Egger Retail Products to market the company’s laminate floors in the U.S. under the brands E Motion, Feelwood and Essentia-L. Based here, Lamwood is a supplier of flooring products best known for establishing the Kronopol brand in North America under the name Kronopol Marketing. “Lamwood’s success in establishing European floor covering manufacturers in North America, and its service culture were two of the key driving factors in our decision to partner with the company,” said Stefan Pletzer, CEO of Egger Retail. Egger Retail is a division of Egger International of St. Johann/Tyrol, Austria, one of the world’s largest producers of wood-based products, with 15 plants across Europe and another scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2007. Levana Schwartz, president and CEO of Lamwood, said, “Egger Retail’s innovative product lines and the company’s focus on consumer preferences made Egger a natural partner in an increasingly competitive marketplace where quality and design are critical factors at point of sale.” Paolo Zampieron, vice president of sales and marketing for Lamwood, added this is an “opportunity to offer our customers a true alternative to hardwood. Compared to any laminate flooring available today, the Egger products continue to push the boundaries and offer a quality floor that looks, feels and even sounds like real wood—and still be a great value.” He added that the E motion, Feelwood and Essentia-L brands, which feature a large variety of widths, colors and textures ranging from AC3 to AC5 abrasion classes, will officially launch at Surfaces 2007 in Las Vegas. While the products will be available exclusively through Lamwood and Silverwood Flooring, Lamwood’s commercial division catering to the construction trade, Schwartz said the company is seeking distributors throughout both the U.S. and Canada to service the Egger flooring lines in their respective territories.
