Article Denver—Shaw Industries, Forbo Flooring, Milliken & Co. and Arden Architectural Specialties, along with the Healthy Building Network (HBN), announced a commitment to using “green chemistry” for healthy building environments during the fifth annual Greenbuild Expo last month held by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“Green chemistry represents the foundation of the next generation of green building materials,” said Bill Walsh, HBN’s founder.

The four companies have applied green principles to address building challenges, such as the phase out of PVC and other harmful chemistries within their businesses.

“The companies gathered have applied green chemistry principles to address practical green building challenges,” Walsh concluded, “and we invite others to examine green chemistry options toward more sustainable manufacturing.”
