Article KINGSTON, ONTARIO, CANADA—The Glenbrook Group, which specializes in environmentally friendly carpet and fabric care solutions, has debuted a program for high-end rugs with the goal of increasing profit margins for dealers and distributors. “The program will instantly increase profits for retailers and provide customers with complete peace of mind,” said James Barber, president.

Glenbrook’s top-level brand, Illuzion, offers a full line of rug maintenance solutions with natural formulations that are non-toxic, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly, Barber said. “These unique, plant-based formulations, which have been developed by European chemists and marketed widely across Australia, Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom for more than 25 years, are now available to North America.”

Although displaying the products at Domotex on a global stage, the owners had resisted repeated requests from North America over the years to expand their horizons, preferring to stay within continental Europe. “The original company has recently been taken over by new management, which has already expanded into the U.K. and now are very keen to expand further into the North American market.”

Simplicity is one of Illuzion’s greatest strengths. “All necessary instructions are clearly shown in wording and pictures on the containers and kit boxes, and the maintenance kits contain everything necessary for the consumer to use the products easily and effectively,” Barber said. “A price program has been set up for wholesalers and retailers for a complete line of products, offering attractive margins for both.”

Retailer benefits include display stands, sales incentives and badges, and a lifetime supply of product to the consumer. “After the initial purchase of a stain remover kit, the customer may return her empty bottle for a free refill,” Barber said. “Glenbrook will bear the brunt of this offer, whereas the flooring dealer will benefit from a tremendous marketing incentive, which immediately justifies an increased selling price and dealer margins of around 50%.” In addition, dealers receive gold tags for the rugs, posters and leaflets.
