Article UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., Sept. 12, 2006 – Hunter Douglas, the nation’s leading manufacturer and marketer of custom window coverings, has built the largest and strongest network of independent showroom dealers and in-home consultants in the industry through its Retail Alliance Programs. The goal of the Hunter Douglas Retail Alliance Programs is to provide the consumer with a thoroughly satisfying shopping experience and to give committed dealers the opportunity to grow and manage a more profitable business and to reap greater rewards for their efforts. Launching in September 2006, the Centurion Club is the newest and most elite alliance innovation yet.

Offered to current Gallery® and Showcase PrioritySM storefront dealers, the Centurion Club requires dealers to commit 100 percent of their window fashions business to Hunter Douglas in return for significant financial incentives and exclusive business-building programs that will fuel further sales volume and profit margins on Hunter Douglas products. Centurion Club members receive rebates on incremental sales, top listing on the dealer locator, Windows To The World trip enhancements, exclusive promotions and participation in Hunter Douglas management meetings.

To qualify for the Centurion Club, existing Gallery and Showcase Priority dealers must be nominated by their fabricators and totally commit to Hunter Douglas with no competitive sample books, displays, samples, signage, advertising or information.

“The Hunter Douglas Retail Alliance Programs are based on the premise that the more a business commits to a company, the more benefits it will receive – the Centurion Club is the ultimate commitment,” said Jim Mathews, Vice President of Corporate Marketing. “All the programs – the Centurion, Gallery, Showcase Priority and Priority Dealer – were strategically developed to address the five key drivers of success – product mix, displays and sampling, advertising, training and education, and program participation – to help dealers realize significant business expansion and greater profitability partnering with Hunter Douglas, now and into the future.”

While the Centurion Club is the newest and the highest level in the Alliance framework, the entire initiative has expanded to better service a wide range of dealers and businesses:

• Introduced in 2000, the time-tested Gallery program is the pinnacle program for dealers with showrooms and includes unique products, marketing programs, training, communications and consumer exposure. It now includes 350 dealers.

• Initiated in April 2005 for storefront and shop-at-home dealers, the Showcase Priority Dealer program is for dealers who commit to showing and selling the complete line of Hunter Douglas window fashions and, in return, have access to online training and exclusive promotions as well as free enrollment in the Window Fashions InstituteSM, a Hunter Douglas certification program. Most important, Showcase Priority dealers share with Gallery dealers in exclusive rights to show and sell the elite Alustra™ Collection. To date, there are 650 dealers enrolled in the program.

• The entry-level Priority Dealer program rewards those thousands of dealers who represent the full line of Hunter Douglas products.

“Our Retail Alliance Programs help dealers leverage the Hunter Douglas brand to attract more high-end consumers; create an impressive consumer experience that leads to more repeat and referral business and offers the support they need to drive sales; increase profits; and establish retail differentiation. The Hunter Douglas Centurion Club is the natural extension of the strategy we developed over a decade ago when the Alliance program concept was first conceived,” concluded Mathews.
