| Article | Shanghai, China—China’s wood flooring industry has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years with no signs of slowing as producers continue to aggressively market their products around the world. With annual export growth reaching up to 20%, manufacturers are also upgrading their equipment and facilities in order to produce the better quality goods that are in high demand. To showcase what is available, the annual 5th Annual China Wood Flooring Export & Import Conference is set for Nov. 8 to 11 here. Produced by China Wood International (CWI), the country’s leading consulting and media organization for the wood industry, this year’s event is expected to be the largest based on the broad international support it is getting, both in sponsorship and participation. This is coming from a variety of sources, such as purchasers, suppliers and recognized leaders in the industry. From the U.S. alone, both the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and NOFMA: The Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association are participating as well as a number of American consulting groups. Joe Audino, NWFA’s chairman, and Timm Locke, NOFMA’s executive vice president, will each hold a seminar as part of the conference’s section on the “North America Market and China.” In addition to the individual seminars there will also be a number of panel sessions featuring wood industry leaders from both China and the U.S. Robin Qiu, CWI’s marketing manager, said the conference will focus on the development trend of the global and China flooring industry. “It will provide international flooring manufacturers and buyers an opportunity to understand the latest developments with regard to China’s wood industry and the rest of the world and how each interacts with each other. In addition, participants will be able to discuss business with other world leaders.” Other sessions include analysis and forecasts for the industry on a global perspective, along with individual areas of the world, including China, the U.S. and Europe; supply and demand of raw materials and the impact on flooring, from China, Russia, Brazil and other regions; the latest technical advancements; installation technology, and a host of other topics pertinent to what is taking place today and what is expected to take place in the near future. The conference also affords participants the opportunity to visit a number of Chinese factories. “The joint efforts of CWI and the industrial experts must contribute to the development of the Chinese wood flooring industry, international trade and investment process,” Qiu concluded. “The conference is a milestone for changing China’s flooring industrial structure and enhancing international cooperation.” For additional information on attending, visit www.chinawood.net and click the conference banner. |
