| Article | North Canton, Ohio—Donald Olsen, president of U.S. operations for the Roca Tile Group, will leave the company Aug. 31 to pursue other opportunities. Olsen has been with Roca’s United States Ceramic Tile Co. division for 21 years and has served as president since 1995. Agustin Lopez, senior managing director of the Roca Group Tiles Division, will be assuming the responsibilities as president. Meanwhile, in order to “meet increased demands of the ceramic tile market, noted Patrick Murphy, marketing manager, “the Roca Tile Group will open four new regional distribution centers in Long Beach, Calif.; Savannah, Ga.; Houston and Miami. Additionally, current warehouses in Suffolk, Va., and East Sparta, Ohio, will be expanded. This network of regional warehouses will provide one of the largest ceramic warehouse capacities in the United States, encompassing more than 750,000 square feet of warehouse space. Long Beach and Houston are operational. Miami and Savannah are scheduled to open by early 2007. “The regional distribution centers will house all Roca Tile Group brands, including Laufen, United States Ceramic Tile Co., Roca and Incepa,” he added. “The new distribution network will provide a quicker response to the complex and growing U.S. ceramic tile market.” Additionally, to strategically position the company for future growth, the U.S. corporate headquarters will relocate from North Canton, Ohio, to Miami, Fla. The move will be made during the first half of 2007. The company’s distribution headquarters in Sacramento, Calif., will relocate to Long Beach, Calif. “Both facilities will be connected to a new distribution center,” concluded Murphy. “The move to the Los Angeles and Miami areas position the company in the heart of the two largest U.S. tile markets in terms of consumption.” For additional information about the Roca Tile Group, call 330/649-5075. —Louis Iannaco |
