Article East Northport, N.Y.—In an effort to bring branding to as many retailers as possible, East to West Architectural Products, a provider of flooring products and services, has designed a system which allows industry professionals to easily and affordably integrate custom artwork or logos into their interior design. The company states it can accommodate all levels of specification and design criteria to bring unique products into national account commercial environments.

“Laser Edge Designs was a company born in the spring of 2002,” explained East to West president, Dean Nichol. Utilizing a technology which specializes in laser etching, the firm’s “Laser Etching machine is something special, and we knew then that the possibilities for product were endless.”

Together, East to West and Laser Edge then designed the new system, noted Nichol. “New laser etching technology and leading edge graphic software know-how have enabled our in-house art department to produce highly detailed, quality imagery within a multitude of applications, and our experienced sales team can facilitate the process from concept to completion.

“In addition,” he stated, “we have developed an Architectural Resource Folder to assist the architect and designer/end user with their project specifications.

“We can enhance any architectural design you can imagine, including flooring, with the look and feel of an etched surface,” Nichol added. “From an etched glass doorway or elegant marble mural to a corporate reception area, Architectural Etching can help retailers achieve maximum visual impact. Marble, granite, wood, glass, stainless steel, anodized aluminum and plexiglass are examples of the materials that can be etched with a company logo, artwork, or even a photo for flooring, walls, signage, fixtures, storefronts...the possibilities are endless.

“When I was in Italy sourcing natural stone products a year-and-a-half ago, I came across this laser etching technology,” he explained. “This is how I got involved with it. I saw the potential of bringing this type of branding, this type of signature to retail end users, whether it be branding their floor, their storefronts, just giving them another material that they could put their signature on. That’s when I partnered Laser Edge, which
is the Architectural Etching company.

“Our customers are national account rollout programs,” concluded Nichol. “These are store chains, hotels, restaurants, etc. By utilizing this technology it enhances their branding, almost like the fifth wall for advertising. We’ve had a lot of success in a short amount of time with this because of people recognizing how, in fact, it can promote their signature.”
