Article Lew’s column “Think Before You Start” (FCNews, March 20/27), was excellent. I would like to include this in my discussions with contractors in my area. This is a great article and fits a circumstance that I have right now pertaining to putting wood in a house without heat.

It seems our contractors of today are under such stress to make the money roll, they are willing to overlook serious consequences of a bad decision. The only friendly thing we can do in some cases is to put it in, but, only after they have been made aware of the pending consequence and a sign off.

I have already made a copy of the column and attached it to a sign off sheet this morning. I appreciate you allowing me to reprint it. It’s great. Thank you for your good articles in Floor Covering News.
