| Article | Raleigh, N.C.—Pergo has announced Dave McClatchy has been promoted to director of specialty retail sales. At the same time, Bill Dearing has been appointed senior divisional sales manager, West, while Mike Nielsen replaced McClatchy as divisional sales manager, East. “The appointment of these three individuals, who have been crucial to the growth of Pergo’s specialty business, truly underscores our commitment to strong and knowledgeable leadership within the company,” said Paul Duval, the company’s vice president of sales. In his new position, McClatchy will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies in the North American market, overseeing product distribution, managing the North American specialty retail sales force and increasing Pergo’s market share. “Growing the specialty retail business is always a top priority for Pergo, and we look forward to having Dave’s assistance and insight as we work to further strengthen our leading market position,” Duval explained. McClatchy, who has been in the industry more than 15 years, has spent his last eight years with Pergo. “At Pergo, we pride ourselves on building relationships with our specialty retailers and distributors,” stated McClatchy. “I look forward to strengthening these partnerships and driving growth for both Pergo and our partners.” Nielsen’s new position places him in charge of developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, increasing market share and leading the East Coast sales team. He previously served as territory sales manager and has been with the mill for more than two years. He will report directly to McClatchy. Dearing has held a variety of key sales management positions including serving as the manufacturer’s first North American sales manager, national accounts manager, sales director for Latin America and director of specialty retail business. “Having worked for Pergo for more than a decade, Dearing possesses detailed knowledge of the company’s specialty retail partnerships and business initiatives,” concluded Duval.
