During the summer market in Atlanta in 1982, these four executives posed for posterity, smiling broadly for the camera. Shown, from left, are: Joe Maffett, president of World Carpets and its distributor division, Zenith; Malcolm Elfman, president of Ben Elfman & Sons, distributor for Boston, and Piera and chairman Shaheen Shaheen, founders of World Carpets. Now, 24 years later, things have changed radically. World was acquired by Mohawk, Elfman closed its doors and Maffett passed away some years ago.
