Jonathan Stanley appointed to L.E.A.R.N. Board of Directors
Utilizing a network of education partners, L.E.A.R.N. provides research focused on educational environments, making it accessible and in an easily digestible format (i.e., symposia, research briefs and podcasts) for key decision-makers, such as school superintendents, architects and designers.
“We are all excited about the valuable contributions and insights Jonathan will bring to our organization,” said Jeannie Haubert, Ph.D., executive director of L.E.A.R.N.
Stanley has also been chosen as the new host of the L.E.A.R.N. podcast for the next year. The podcast focuses on making research accessible to fuel the future of thriving learning spaces.
In his role at Tarkett, Stanley is credited as the visionary behind Tarkett’s Healthy Building Summit. Over the years, the event has brought together professionals within the education sector—ranging from designers to facility managers, institutional leaders, educators, maintenance professionals and sustainability and construction experts—to address problems and drive positive change through deep collaboration.
“We saw a gap in interdisciplinary collaboration around healthy buildings, especially in educational settings,” said Stanley. L.E.A.R.N.’s goals speak directly to that gap—helping schools access simplified research to make evidence-based decisions about the built environment.
“Each role within the education system brings a unique perspective and experience of the space, but too often, we’re giving design teams conflicting direction without understanding each other’s points of view,” added Stanley. “We just don’t know what we don’t know. But getting on the same page helps us move forward with more educated and purposeful decisions and gives our students healthier buildings in the process. It's all the more reason I’m so happy to be a part of the L.E.A.R.N. board.”
